Fourth Baptist Church is committed to being a place where broken, struggling people can become spiritually well and whole. Our heart is to be a therapeutic community, immersed in grace and grounded in truth because that is the only kind of therapy that works. For us this means modeling Christ and communicating Scripture, because Christ was "full of grace and truth" (John 1:14) and Scripture is "the word of truth" (2 Timothy 2:15) and "the word of His grace" (Acts 20:32).

Communities like this are desperately needed in our world. If we could relate the moral and spiritual condition of our culture to a medical model, it would be an ER, "code blue" kind of world. Our burden is to fix the brokenness and stop the bleeding.

In a casualty-creating world, Fourth Baptist Church is a place where people can come with wounds exposed and hear loud and clear: "Grace dispensed here! Truth shared here!" We believe that grace and truth, biblically defined and personally appropriated, are precisely what we need to mend and restore broken lives.
